Business Needs
A global consulting company with strong relationships in the small-medium business (SMB) marketplace was looking to expand into the fast growth, infrastructure and IT cloud/outsourcing business through a focus on application processing and SaaS (Software as a Service) - like approaches. This direction was based on their client interests, and a desire to provide broader solutions and preserve relationships.
Solution
A business plan, including a financial model with capital requirements, with Stonebridge leadership, was developed. This project surfaced organization, measurement, margin and capital challenges. It was recommended that the better approach was to provide these outsourcing and cloud services through partners/contractors, with the best client fit, on demand, as required.
Results
This allowed the consulting company to be responsive to its clients and participate in the market opportunity, but avoid infrastructure investment and maintenance.
